You need QT3 installed, check www.trolltech.com for info.

When you have that done.

run: $QTDIR/bin/hbs.pro
run: make

then copy the bs/hbs file to somewhere in the path (or where you now want to run it from)

copy: share/* to /usr/share/hbs/

(or if you don't want to move them to that location, either edit $HOME/.qt/hbsrc or bs/bsconf.cpp to set your own directory)

Now you should be able to run hbs from the place you chose
